The Leksell Gamma Knife Society was founded in 1989 as a forum for Gamma Knife clinicians, physicists and researchers to exchange information, experiences and clinical techniques, as well as clinical data on the use of Leksell Gamma Knife. 

The mission of the Leksell Gamma Knife Society is to further define and expand the role of Gamma Knife Surgery in the treatment of intracranial disorders. The development of best practices in order to improve patient outcomes is an important objective of the Society. Membership is open to practitioners at all Gamma Knife sites.
