Objective
The course will focus on clinical information, combined with radiation physics. Participants will learn details about technical and dosimetry aspects of the Leksell Gamma Knife. At the end of the course attendees should be able to perform acceptance, commissioning and regular quality assurance of the Leksell Gamma Knife unit and treatment planning including configuration and administration of the Leksell GammaPlan® treatment planning software. Further, participants should be able to address all requirements of clinical use of Leksell Gamma Knife such as stereotactic imaging, radiosurgery treatment planning, gamma knife unit operation and radiation safety and emergency procedures.
