Purpose/Objective
To introduce clinicians to Gamma Knife surgery with Leksell Gamma Knife® Icon™. The course will focus on clinical information, combined with radiation physics, dosimetry, stereotactic imaging, quality assurance (QA), technical information and treatment planning using Leksell GammaPlan. Introduction to workflows with Leksell Gamma Knife Icon; demo and hands-on.

- Clinical program with lectures covering established indications for Gamma Knife surgery;
- Patient selection and teaching cases
- Observation of patient treatments
- Introduction to Leksell Gamma Knife® Icon™ incl. hands-on sessions;
- System overview incl. Stereotactic Cone Beam Computer Tomography (Stereotactic CBCT) and High Definition Motion Management System (HDMM System), Frame based and frameless techniques, Treatment Delivery Evaluations, Radiation Unit, Patient Positioning System, Control System
- Practical workflow sessions
- Demonstrations of Clearance, Radiation Safety and Emergency Procedures
- Quality Assurance.
- Basic radiation physics, basic radiobiology, calibration, imaging modalities
- Introduction to treatment planning with Leksell GammaPlan incl hands-on sessions;
