Purpose/Objective
Clinical Introduction Course to Leksell Gamma Knife® Radiosurgery. Applicable for Leksell Gamma Knife® (LGK) models Perfexion, Icon, and Esprit. The purpose of this course is to focus on clinical information, combined with radiation physics.
Participants will learn details about technical and dosimetry aspects of the Leksell Gamma Knife®.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the course attendees should be able to perform:
- Acceptance, commissioning and regular Quality Assurance of the Leksell Gamma Knife® unit and treatment planning
- Including configuration and administration of the Leksell GammaPlan® treatment planning software
- Including configuration and administration of the Leksell GammaPlan® treatment planning software
- Address all requirements of clinical use of Leksell Gamma Knife® such as:
- Stereotactic imaging
- Radiosurgery treatment planning
- Leksell Gamma Knife® unit operation
- Radiation safety and emergency procedures
